The holy grail of sunscreen
"I have tried at least 20+ different mineral sunscreens over the years and this one is my personal favorite. I know it’s marketed for babies - but that’s adults can use this just as well. Why this one?
1. Smell - so many mineral sunscreens have a metallic smell and if tint is added I swear it always smells like play dough. I am particularly sensitive to smells so this is something I vetted sunscreens for.
2. White cast - I have a medium skin tone, I definitely tan in the summers/sun. I apply this stuff daily and let’s be real - there are no pure zinc oxide sunscreens out there that leave no cast for me - but this one is close to no cast! If I apply a lot sometimes it’s harder to blend and my face looks a little pale - but foundation sits well on top of this. Just a bit of tinted moisturizer or light foundation does the trick! See photos before blending and after.
3. Drying effect - some mineral sunscreens seem to dry my skin out a lot (I have sensitive skin) - this one doesn’t do that! It’s great for sensitive skin.
4. Washing off - I have you ever felt like you need to scrape off your sunscreen at the end of the day? This one doesn’t have that sticky/heaviness. It goes on light (I apply a decent amount) and it comes off easily with a gentle face wash.
5. Layering - because this sunscreen is so lightweight and moisturizing, I find that I can put makeup right over it without any creasing or caking look. Many mineral sunscreens feel like there’s a barrier between your sunscreen and makeup. This one blends really well and allows the makeup to melt into the sunscreen and skin!
I think those are the main things I found about this sunscreen that make this sunscreen #1 for me. That and the price tag!"
I still use this, Baby!
"It's not just for babies... I still use this stuff! I learned about it when my fair-skinned babe was born and liked that it's basically just zinc. Super safe, good barrier. Now I still use it. It does separate when I leave it in the car, but I just shake it pretty well and it's fine. I'd rather have it driving into the morning and evening sun than get fried en route! And it's not chemicals, so the integrity doesn't break down like chemical sunscreens would in the heat.
It can get a bit zombie-looking if I don't blend it pretty well, but I put makeup on over it to counter that effect. Better a little white than burned. They also make a great tinted version for when I don't feel like wearing makeup but still want my skin to look a bit more even. The price can be hefty compared to others, but I keep buying it. It's my favorite!"
Awesome Sunscreen Option For Kids and Adults
"I had been using Baby Badger Sunscreen for years because I wanted a zinc only sunscreen with no titanium dioxide additive. I regularly look at the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and their recommendations for products based on safety, efficacy, etc. I wanted to try this brand after seeing it ranked very well on the EWG list. I am very impressed and will be purchasing it instead of Baby Badger in the future. The consistency and ease of applying it is better. Baby Badger could be thick and kind of oily sometimes. This one spreads on very well and it has a nice pleasant scent. I'll probably be buying the face stick also soon."
