"These plates stood up to steak and steak knives very well. I was impressed! They're thick and durable, and they look nice. I've used them for a steak dinner, salad dinner, and a taco party, and they worked well every time, no breaking or slipping of the food! I would recommend and purchase again. They are legitimately the size of a large dinner plate, and the side come up high enough that nothing sloshes onto the floor."

"I bought this product being misled by the description, which was stating that the plates are "eco-friendly", "biodegradable", "100% compostable". I was surprised to see that the plates do not absorb oil and grease. After some research, I found out that the vast majority of such plates made out of plant fiber use PFAS coatings for water and oil resistance. I sent an email to the manufacturer twice and I did not get a reply, which reinforces my suspicion. I encourage you to do your own research: PFAS are a family of chemicals that are extremely persistent in the environment, non-biodegradable, can leach into the food, and pose potential adverse effects for the environment and human health, as stated by US, Canadian, EU enviromental agencies. The governments (slowly) take steps to regulate them.

The problem with this company is that the description of the product is extremely misleading... calling them "eco-friendly", "biodegradable", "compostable", showing pictures of happy whales etc. They provide certifications, yet these are irrelevant to toxic PFAS use. Given that the company does not disclose explicitly whether it uses PFAS coatings or not, all their claims might as well be exactly the opposite. Thus, do yourself a favor and AVOID THEM, DO NOT POLLUTE YOURSELVES, OUR SOIL AND WATER WITH TOXIC WASTE FROM PFAS-CONTAMINATED PAPER PLATES."
