Beautiful but uncomfortable and not terribly useful.
"I wanted to love these. They are so pretty! But they just don't function very well as actual eating utensils. The mouthfeel is dry and splintery...not a great feeling when you're trying to enjoy a meal. :( They also don't cut very well."
Finally a real wooden knife that works
"The Cadillac of disposable wooden knives. Outstanding value for what you're getting. The extended handle makes a surprising difference, turning a doll's toy that you have to hold in two fingers into a real tool that you can grip with all four fingers. It also gives the knife surprisingly good balance. Wooden knives want to turn sideways on you, so the manufacturers have heat-stamped an elegant raised ridge area through the center of the handle, giving it both a three-dimensional look and also adding important structural stiffness. You are not going to get a great edge on a wooden blade, no matter how hard you try, but this one has very good serrated teeth that work excellently for sawing, not cutting. I was surprised that I can saw through a rubbery baked salmon skin that gives normal knives problems. It also handled sawing a piece out of a week-old pecan pie--wouldn't have been able to do either of those with a plastic knife. I love the fact that I can use them and then throw them out for compost with a clear conscience. Elegant enough to use for important occasions; cheap enough for daily usage. If you're going to get a wooden knife, this is the one you want to get.
