"We like to compost nearly all of our food scraps, using a small metal can by the sink. These bags fit it perfectly. Scared to carry it out really full, as it would be a disaster for it to break!

That said, they are definitely strong enough to hold all of the scraps to a full pail -- we just take the pail out and dump it into the compost bin that is picked up every week.

These are convenient, sturdy enough (we have not had any leaks from the bags into the tin), and I consider them a good value for the buck.

"We live in an area with city wide composting. These bags fit the 2 gallon plastic container supplied by the city. While we are not allowed any plastic bags in the large compost container the trucks pick up, these bags simplify containment. We place the full bags in the freezer and empty the bag contents into the compost bin on trash day. The compostable bags go in the regular trash - great since they will not add to the landfill. The bags will work well for the regular landfills for food scraps for those who do not compost at home."

"These bags are so good at breaking down that they break down inside my little kitchen compost bin before it gets full enough to take out, so I still end up needing to wash it out every time which defeats the purpose of these bags. I can’t even be mad at them because it’s great that they are so easily compostable, but just not useful as compost bags for this reason."
