Not as bright red as in the picture
"I couldn't decide between poppy and dahlia, so I bought them both. In the product images the poppy looks like more of a bright, blue-based red, while the dahlia is a darker, more brown/brick red. Both are nice colors, but in real life the poppy was a lot darker and more like the dahlia than I expected, given what it looked like in the pictures. Had I known that was the case, I would have just bought the dahlia instead.
I still gave three stars because the lipstick is a nice color and goes on well. It is a matte color with a somewhat dry feel, so make sure your lips are moisturized before applying. The color lasts, though. I'm glad there's an option for Eco-conscious people who love makeup but are trying to eliminate or reduce their plastic consumption."
Ethique Lipstick
"I love Ethique's line of lipsticks. This review is in regards to the lipstick color Mallow which gives my lips a relaxing natural tint color. I also used Mallow as a blush; again it added that little bit of flush. I was concerned that the color might have been too light, but it worked out nice. I have medium-light skin tone with light brown hair. The lipsticks are all Vegan, Palm Oil Free and come in a compostable tube!"
So far, I love it!
"I bought the Honeysuckle. The photo shows how it compares with my favorite (but plasticy nudes): Dior 426 sensual matte, Hourglass Believer, and Mineral Fushion Nude. I love how close in color it is for my old 426. The second two were cruelty-free substitutes for my Dior I decided to give up several years ago. However, this lipstick meets ALL my desired criteria. Vegan, cruelty-free, and no plastic! There was a slight separation of the color, but with the so cocoa lip balm a few lip smacks it was smooth again for me. I use it with the balm because it is not so moisturizing on its own. However, it is also the middle of winter so it is dry and freezing cold. So far I’m happy with this switch though and will likely stick with it."
