Why is bagasse good?

The sugarcane industry produces enormous amounts of waste yearly, which if not disposed properly can cause many problems. The accumulation of organic waste is one of the most serious problems facing developing countries. Egypt for example produces more than 16.8 million tons of sugarcane residue per year. Developing countries disposing of their wastes by burning or dumping into landfills has an enormous negative effect on the planet.
