"I’m really glad I switched to menstrual cups. I bought these because they were very inexpensive and all I wanted to do was try it out. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but once I got the hang of them they have been a dream. I forget I have it in, even on my heaviest days, and I only have to empty it out 2-3 times a day despite being a heavy bleeder (I’m talking soak-through-an-overnight-pad-in-2-hours, heavy).

Caveats:
1. It is pretty soft, and from what I understand, the nicer ones have a stiffer material. I thought I would like the softness, but I’ve found it makes it very difficult to get the cup to pop open. Also, I have a tilted uterus, so I struggle to get the cup in the right place so that it won’t leak, and I think having a stiffer one would make the insertion process a lot easier for me.

2. You really need to get educated before you try to use one for the first time. I watched a lot of videos prior to buying this one so I knew what to expect and what to do, but I still had a bit of a learning curve trying to get it in the right place. If I hadn’t known already that I have a tilted uterus, and happened to have watched a relevant video, I might have assumed there was something wrong with the product after discovering leaks.

3. You really need to know your body before you try these. If I was trying this out as a teenager, I probably would have given up in tears. I couldn’t even get tampons in comfortably when I was younger, and it was only after I’d given birth twice that I felt comfortable enough to try it out. That said, you can absolutely use this as your first and only period product, but I definitely recommend doing your research and educating yourself thoroughly beforehand.

All in all, it’s been a great product, totally functional, and a great first-time cup. I think now that I have tried this one and liked it I will be upgrading to something name brand soon.

Don’t be too discouraged by the negative reviews! Many of the issues raised are user error. Just make sure you have armed yourself thoroughly with knowledge! I definitely recommend this product to first time cup users!"

"Takes a little getting used to and may still have to use a liner. I do overall appreciate always having them around and not running out of tampons! If you have a rough go the first couple of uses it may get a little easier."
