Basic Ear Protection in a Nice case

Not bad, but understand what they are and what they aren't
"So, the first thing to understand about these is what they are not; they are not noise-canceling or noise blocking earplugs. They are noise REDUCTION, only.
What the are is basically a set of silicone baffles that go into your ear, and each one acts as another insulation level against the noise; separate baffles means that each one stops some sound which then has to travel thru the open airspace between them and to the next one, losing energy in each transition, where a solid material could transfer the sound more easily.
Do they work? Sure; as long as two things are true -- first, they fit correctly; they fit me fine, despite having hairy old-man ears.. but my partner couldn't get any kind of seal on them at all, so they just didn't work for her. Second, the noise they are up against has to be the right kind of noise. Even the best noise-blocking earphones will not block everything; you get some transmission of many frequencies right thru your skin and bone, but that's why ear-covering headphones work better. Actual Noise-Cancelling systems tend to require power, because they are sampling the environment and trying to create an inverse noise to counteract any consistent sound, and doing a little bit of a white-noise thing to interfere with anything else.
These? They deaden a good amount of specific frequencies. I had good luck using them to reduce the noise of the landscaping people working outside with leaf-blowers and such, but they didn't do much to help with the construction sounds from up the hill, nor with doorbells, and other sharp tones.
As long as you are looking for something to reduce the ambient noise, AND they fit you well, they do the job quite well."
