First impressions: Oh, these are nice and I like the color, kind of a lilac. There is no smell and they are in individual zip top bags inside another zip top bag.

Installation/setup: Remove from package and insert brush handle to scoot cover over bristles from the bottom to prevent splitting the brush.

Final thoughts: I really like these. The bristles on my brushes are always getting split and broken by just carrying them around in my bag. I have used artist brushes for years as well and I have always wanted something like this for my watercolor brushes to keep in my travel kit. I would suggest to make sure your brushes are, if not cleaned, at least fully dry before storage in any capacity. These covers should extend the life of your expensive brushes. This works well and I’m glad I got it.
