Eco-Friendly and Convenient: My Experience with the Bfree Cup
"I was in search of a sustainable and environmentally friendly option to manage my periods, and I am so glad I found this product.
First of all, I appreciate the fact that the cup comes in a reusable and plastic-free container. This small detail makes a big difference in reducing waste, and it shows the company’s commitment to sustainability.
One of the most impressive features of the Bfree Cup is that it is antibacterial and doesn’t need to be boiled after use. This makes the cup much more convenient and easy to use, especially for those who are new to menstrual cups (like me!).
Finally, I appreciate the fact that the company supports programs to help marginalized girls, women, and others living in extreme poverty manage their periods. It’s inspiring to know that my purchase is supporting a good cause.
Overall, I highly recommend the Bfree menstrual cup! It’s a convenient, safe, and sustainable option for anyone looking for an alternative to disposable menstrual products."
Not great for me.
"I will be honest, I don't probably need this as much as the average person might, because I have a birth control implant that significantly reduces the frequency and output of my flow. But, I wanted to get one because I feel that the environmental impact of reducing plastic applicator tampons is important. I've really only had cause to wear this twice since ordering it, but I have noticed a few things. This is my first experience with a cup, so I'm not sure how common these things are, but think it's important to mention so you can make an educated decision.
First, this seems really thick at the rim especially. In order to fold it and insert the cup, I feel like it takes some doing to get it right. I have yet to insert it on a first go. Usually it's three or four times before I get it right and that can be significantly frustrating. Second, removal seems really hard. The base of the cup is so thick that I have a hard time gripping it to remove it which means I sometimes end up really having to fish around to get a good enough grip to remove this. Third, if you have a really heavy flow, I could see this being an issue if you had to empty it on the go. I can honestly not imagine what you would do. It's a literal nightmare I have when I put this in. I am also not thrilled with the fit. It feels really bulky to me and I'm aware of it all day long, which I don't like.
Now, I will say that it seems to hold quite a bit, and I have had no issues with leakage once I get it properly inserted. It has also been really easy to clean, though I feel a little weird about not boiling it since that is such a standard practice for cups. I love that it comes with a tin to protect it and it doesn't have any plastics. Overall, I think this could be great, but I don't think it's the best fit for me. I do think it's a good quality and price though, so if you're interested I wouldn't steer you away from it."
Nice Alternative To Tampons
"I have tried other menstrual cups before, but this cup is a lot more flexible and easier to grip. The texture on the end is a feature I appreciate most. Use of the cup is pretty simple once you get the hang of it. I like the color of the cup itself, and sterilizing the cup is also a piece of cake. For a light to regular flow this is a good option."
