Work well, some have split wood
"We used these forks for a party of over 20 people. People seemed impressed that we had wooden forks. The only complaint I heard about them was that a fork had split wood, and someone went to get a new fork. I did notice a small split on one of the other forks (see picture). I am not sure how many forks are affected like this, as I did not go through them all. Nobody got any splinters while eating off of these. My husband and I felt it was slightly more difficult to pierce food in comparison to your typical plastic fork, but it wasn't a big deal. The kids ages 4 and older used these forks just fine as well. We were eating your typical cookout meal with sides of potato salad, 3 bean salad, and watermelon, and nobody had issues eating these things. The nice thing about these forks is that you can throw them right into a bonfire after using them, along with paper plates!
Because the forks come packaged in plastic, I put them out in small decorative containers with the ends sticking up. People thought that they were a container of tongue depressors, lol! Most people figured out on their own they were forks.
Overall, these are decent forks if you are looking for an alternative to plastic."
Eco-Friendly, Bamboo Forks
"LotFancy brand Disposable Wooden Forks, Pack of 100, are approximately 6.2" and supposedly Compostable and Biodegradable Eco-friendly Forks. I did not try to compost or test biodegradability of these forks and cannot attest to the truth of this statement as it is made in item description. I can verify that they are principally made of BAMBOO.
I appreciate the Bamboo or sustainable materials more than any plastic material in a disposable product.
Some bamboo products are made with enough resins that they do not feel like they are natural or sustainable. This product feels like natural product and not plastic.
I have used fresh bamboo and palm leaf materials fashioned into plates and eating implements before and see the distinct similarity.
You can reuse these. I have washed and even washed in the dishwasher!
These forks are not flat but are pressed into a scoop shape, much like a spoon but in no way resembling the dreaded Spork. Note that if washed in dishwasher, they may lose their beautiful scooping capability as the heat may flatten them. They are still good as nice flat forks though.
I don't know how many times you may wash and reuse, only that you can.
Tip: Some Bamboo utensils have SPLINTERS. Of all of the many different Bamboo-derived disposable utensils I have used, these have virtually no splinters. Please be aware."
