"I have a gray cat, I've been obsessed with gray cats ever since I was a child - my favorite toy was a gray stuffed animal cat, and I like collecting anything related to gray cats so yeah I'm super stoked about buying this mat. I moved to a new house, my cat's area of the house is separated with a baby gate so my dog can't get in her room and I wanted a mat to put by the gate to make it absurdly obvious that it's her space and this mat does just that. It looks like my cat but gangster, gangster Gracie:)

That being said, it seems like more of a computer mat than a bathroom mat - it's basically a giant mousepad. It's definitely nonslip, I've tried sliding it around and it will not budge so I have to pick it up to reposition it. Seems like it would be a great 'feeding' mat so I'll probably wind up putting a treat bowl on it so my cat can taunt my dog by eating the treats he can't have in front of him. She's always on a power trip and I fully support it."

"The price was low enough for me to take the risk on mixed reviews, but I have to agree with those complaining that this probably is not a true diatomate mat. It acts more like neoprene in absorbency, which is to say liquids pool at the top, allowing for runoff. This did not successfully replace the ugly boot tray I was using under my dogs' water bowls to protect my hardwood floors. It is, however, a cute non-skid option that might be OK for a bath mat as long as you don't anticipate major splashes."

"The colors are pale compared to the picture, they are not at all vivid. The rug is flat to the floor, nothing to protect from the hard floor. The one plus I give it is it is not ugly, and two it has a nice rubber backing."
