take practice and applicator can be intimidating
"i’m sure there are smaller applicators but this one does seem a little scary to use… is effective if used correctly and after some practice trials. USE LUBE if you have it!"
Got stuck
"I was very excited to receive this product, as getting my hands bloody during the cup insertion was a problem.
Well, color me disappointed, when my cup didn't fit into this thing (I use the honey pot one). It got stuck, getting it out of there was a nightmare. I thought I'd break my cup. It's hard to clean, as in you will either have to use a washrag, or a bottle cleaner for this thing, as it does get dirty. There is a hole in the bottom applicator, where the tail end of the cup is supposed to fit, and unless you are using a specific type of cup, the end won't fit in there.
I regret purchasing this thing and I do not recommend it for anyone else. Just carry a nail brush in your sanitary bag and wash your hands well, apply lotion afterward. This is a waste of money."
Larger than anticipated…
"As a newbie to menstrual cups, I was very excited to try this for insertion. I certainly expected this to be larger than than what you’d expect from a tampon given the size of the cup. However, it was significantly larger in diameter than I anticipated.
It required lube inside the device to even allow the menstrual cup to glide through it and then also for insertion.
The actual insertion attempt was … unsuccessful. Perhaps a different position would be better, but the typical sitting on the toilet to insert was tight and uncomfortable. Then, it was hard to get the applicator to push on the cup. So, when repositioning my hand for a better grip, the applicator end fell into the toilet (as it’s not firmly gripped like a tampon would be). At this point, I abandoned the operation and decided this was maybe not the experience I was hoping for.
I think this product is a great idea. They have made it easy to clean for sanitary purposes. However, the practicality of having to lube it up inside and out for every use coupled with the adventure one might need to be prepared for when it comes to actual insertion made me quickly lose the will to proceed any further."
