"This 9" plate is good for use with dry or moist foods and I think the size/weight compares well with similar-sized plates. I tested it using only one thickness plate at a time. One plate will hold an average meal and as the photo shows, it absorbed some of the butter used with the mushrooms. Interestingly, when I poured water on it, left it for 30 minutes, it didn't become soggy so it must be only oils that it absorbs. It's advertised as "heavy-duty" but if you're expecting thick and sturdy, you may be disappointed.

It's designed to be quickly biodegradable and compostable which is a nice feature whether you compost at home or place them in the trash. It works great with dry foods like burgers and chips, moist foods like fruits and veggies but you may want to double the plates when serving foods that have a higher oil content.

Bottom Line: Nice quality paper plates which are especially good if you like the idea of using them for compost when you finish using them as dinner plates."

"It comes with 100 plates and the size is big enough for holding a decent amount of food. They are microwavable too.
However, they are not grease-proof as some stains go through the plate.

I would give a 4 solid stars as they are versatille and of good quality."

"Very nice plates, biodegradable, environmentally friendly, study, and just the right size. Be aware they are uncoated and grease will come through them. This is not necessarily a negative because of the goal of the product, but definitely something to be aware of if you choose these. Understanding that, the product performs well and has the goal of being environmentally conscious. The pic shows the bottom of a plate with two pieces of pizza on it, straight out of the microwave."
