"I have ongoing issues of pain in my left foot from my ankle to my toes, and have had years of doctors' advice and treatment, MRIs, xrays, injections. They can't localize it, it's "probably arthritis." The pain just moves to a different area of my foot after a few months of feeling okay.

I bought this because my outer ankle has been causing me to limp for a few yards initially when walking and then just aches like crazy until I sit down. Cycle then repeats. So I thought I would try this option as I had no idea anything like this existed. I liked the hot or cold options, and the fact it slips over nearly my entire foot and up over my ankle.

I put in the freezer overnight and used it this morning. It feels great, almost too cold. I am surprised people complain about it not staying cold for more than 15 minutes (injury related heat and cold alternation treatments should be only 15 minutes each, so that ^ is not a bad thing; it is actually the way it should be used). Oh my goodness, it makes a lot of difference in the level of pain upon standing.

I haven't tried the heat use yet. But since I much prefer the soothing sensation of heat, I expect it will be just as amazing or more so. I would definitely recommend this product, and I will buy another."

"This doesn't work for your heel. It has a seam right under your heel and expands out when you put it on leaving no cold gel on your heel. Works ok for ankle. I needed it for my heel so I don't rate it high for that reason."

"I was looking for an ice pad for my foot that didn't have bulk or annoying straps...this is perfect. You just pull it on your foot like a sock, and on me, it covers from my toes to over my ankle. This gel sock gets nice and cold, which lasts about 1/2 hour or more for me. It's very soft and comfortable...I'm even able to sleep with it on.

The only thing that could be better is that the sock has about 1/2 inch seam on both sides where there is no gel, and it doesn't get cold. However, I was able to simply rotate the sock to get the cold where I needed it, and that worked fine. I definitely recommend this gel sock."
