Much softer than most, almost a faux fur finish, very soft.
"•Overall Impression:
-These are some of the best and most unique makeup removing, face cleansing, washable, reusable rounds I've ever seen or used. They are by far the softest I've ever used with an almost faux fur like finish vs smooth cotton.
-They won't exfoliate like rougher more textured cloths or rounds, and you may want some of those (or muslin cloths) for occasional exfolliation cleansing.
-But for regular daily use, makeup removal especially around the eyes or for those with sensitive skin, these are the best I've ever seen or used. I have several the fleece, microfiber, cotton styles and these are much softer than they are. If you struggle to find reusable rounds you like and are soft enough, these are wonderful. They’re my new favorites.
• Pros-what I liked and what worked well:
-Excellent value for the quantity, quality and unique fabric and style.
-Available in a lighter or darker tone. I have both, and I do think they are almost exactly alike, but the lighter one is just a touch softer and fluffier than the darker style. The darker will hide makeup stains better and look cleaner longer than the lighter style. You can't go wrong with either tone.
-50 rounds included
-Unique finish vs most other rounds. They are not a fleece, smooth or textured cotton weave, flat microfiber or muslin. I have rounds and cloths in all those materials, and I've never seen rounds with this finish before.
-They're (in both light and dark tones, the light tone is fluffier by a little bit but not much) like a faux fur material almost. Not in a stringy faux fur way, but like a faux fur blanket or faux fur like powder applicator material. They are the softest rounds I've ever used and I can't imagine you'd find any softer than these are.
-The edge seam isn't prominent, doesn't stick out, it's truly on the outer edge and hidden (like a powder applicator seam is) and unlike some pads (fleece ones with thick seams tend to do this), you won't rub a rough seam on your face during cleansing and use.
-Reusable, washable. You can hand wash and air dry. Or you can use the included fabric laundry bag. I would use gentle soap and no fabric softener in the washer or dryer, cold water, gentle, low heat dry. I’d wash them (either tone, light or dark) by themselves.
-Have a finish that is similar to a faux fur makeup powder applicator, could also be used for blending makeup or as a makeup brush wipe for cleansing gently between washes.
-Good size, aren't too small or overly large. 3 by 3 inch size.
-Round shape.
-100% polyester (this may not sound good compared to cotton rounds, having used multiple styles and types of cotton and microfiber rounds, these are very nice and I like this set better)
-Have no unpleasant scent to them.
• Cons-what I didn’t like and what didn’t work well:
-No issues.
• Tips & Thoughts:
-I would use these mainly for cleansing vs toner application. Any fabric rounds always over absorb and waste toner and liquid products.
-For micellar water, toner I prefer and highly recommend the soft but inexpensive disposable Intrinsics 407300 Petite Silken Wipes. You can't use them for wet cleansing with water, but they are great with micellar water (highly recommend Bioderma Sensibio in the dispenser press down bottle). I trim them in half (the Intrensics wipes not these) and get two uses out of one pad.
-For occasional exfolliation, try a muslin cloth. They are too rough for daily use or around the eyes, I'd recommend Karlling 10 Cotton Facial Cleansing Muslin Cloths. They aren't good for removing makeup and I don't use them for that, but for exfolliatoin. They wrinkle quite a bit when washed, but when wet with water thoroughly for washing they smooth out and are fine.
-Having used other styles, fabrics of rounds, these are by far my favorite for the gentleness. They don't exfoliate, don't have any roughness or rough edges. These are the only ones I would re-buy at this point, and I have re-bought some fleece-microfiber rounds, but these are so much better that they are my new favorite.
-Tip: Use a container for a small hamper for your used ones to gather them to laundry. I use a fabric net laundry bag for that. But I make sure the rounds are dry before putting them in my hamper bag.
-Tip: Use a fabric net laundry bag (smaller ones work best) (I tie one to my bathroom towel bar.) to dry out a round after use and before putting it in your hamper, so it doesn’t stay wet and you don’t put a wet round in your hamper."
Not sure how long they will last
"First these makeup pads are so soft! They also do a good job of removing makeup. I love that they come with a little laundry bag that you can use to store them in and then use when you toss them in the washer. However I am concerned about how well these will hold up with multiple washes; after just 1 wash I could see a difference. They do however replace makeup remover wipes and even if they can only be a reused a few times they still cut down on waste."
Soft, But Limited Reusability
"I love the softness of these pads. They are so gentle on my skin, even when I am taking off waterproof or costume makeup. I also appreciate that they are eco-friendly and reusable.
However, I have found that the reusability of the pads is limited. After a number of washes, they start to lose their effectiveness at removing makeup. This is still better than using disposable wipes, but it is something to keep in mind. Given there are 50 pads included, these will easily outlast single-use wipes.
Overall, I am happy with the pads. They are soft, gentle, and eco-friendly. However, they obviously won't last forever."
