Wished I had these last winter...
"Last winter our area had unusually high rainfall, and as a result our downstairs flooded because of grading and drainage issues (since corrected) however I'm sure if we had these sandbags we would have been spared most if not all of the flooding problems.
These bags are unusual in that they are long and thin, intended to fit along openings (doorways, etc.). They are made of a canvas-like heavy cloth that is not waterproof, and they seem durable and reasonably well constructed. Drawstring end on one of the ten sandbags in my pack had a mismatched edge, but this did not compromise its function. Common wisdom says fill sandbags approximately half full of sand for best results; these bags could probably go as high as 2/3 full and still work well.
The photo is two half-filled bags overlapping corners on rough concrete on a slight downhill slope, to test how well they would hold back water. Initially some water escaped the barrier, but after a few minutes as the bags got wet and contents settled, water flow was nearly stopped.
All in all, I am very happy with these sandbags. The small steel shovel that came with the bags is a perfect size to fill the bags in just a few minutes per bag. I hope I won't have to use them again this year, but just in case...

Exactly what I needed
"I plan on using these in my basement to protect some products & items that I dont want to get wet. These sandbags are so long & skinny they will be PERFECT if another leak in the basement begins. These couldn't have worked out better. I have tested them with 4 buckets of water & I threw it at the sandbags. It worked amazingly, it led all the water right to my Sump pump in the corner of my basement. I literally couldn't be more satisfied with these bags.
I HIGHLY recommend these sandbags."
These are great to have on hand in case of emergency.
