Large oval dinner plates perfect for family gatherings
"I got these to use for our Thanksgiving dinner. The size is nice and large for turkey and all the fixings. They are 12.5 by 10.5 inches. That is larger than my stoneware dinner plates.
The plates are made from sugarcane pulp, which is an interesting concept. I couldn’t wait to try one to see how the plate would hold up compared to standard paper/plastic plates. These have no wax or plastic, yet they hold up amazingly well.
The plates are sturdy and deep enough to pile on plenty of food without the risk of it falling out or off. Even though it has no wax, it held up fine to pasta sauce and butter without leaking through. The knife did leave some cut marks but didn’t cut through the plate. And the plates are microwaveable, which is essential for reheating that second meal!
It's important to find alternative sources to using trees and plastic for disposable items; these plates play a vital part in helping the environment. They are listed as 100% compostable and decompose within 3-6 months.
I am impressed by the quality of these plates and look forward to using them for our holiday dinner. I believe they will hold up great to the pounds of food the guests will load on them. They also have a nice lip around the edge for a good grip! I found I like these plates made from sugarcane pulp better than regular heavy-duty paper plates or plastic ones. I recommend them."
Heavy Duty, Compost Nicely
"These dinner plates are really nice! I used them with a hot dinner with a lot of gravy. They didn't leak and were easy to carry without collapsing. They may not hold up to that much hot liquid for over an hour, though. The trade-off is that they will compost nicely in a relatively short time. Too many things say they are compostable, but actually take years to break down. I'm happy with the balance these have stricken."
Nice Paper Plates
"These are nice big paper plates and they're strong too. We've only used them a little bit but so far they do a good job. My wife likes the large size, big enough to use for serving plates. I really like that these are compostable, so we can reduce the amount of trash in the landfill. I haven't tried composting them yet but I really hope that proves to be true. Good paper plates."
